Zon Staff started life inside Shopify POS and that is still where it is happiest, but a lifetime license runs on the web dashboard on its own, so you don't need a Shopify store to use it. If you do have one, you connect it after you've redeemed and your staff and locations come across.
It is a record keeping tool rather than a payroll processor. It works out gross pay, overtime and commission, and it hands that to Gusto, QuickBooks, Xero or a CSV. It doesn't file your taxes or move the money.
If you already pay for Zon Staff monthly through Shopify, redeem the license first, then cancel the Shopify subscription from your admin. Nobody gets billed twice.
