The short version, before the long one: we collect what the app needs to run your roster and your payroll, we keep it in your account, and we do not sell it to anybody.
These terms cover your use of Zon Staff: the Shopify app, the iPhone app, and the universal web dashboard at manage.zonstaff.com, which runs whether or not you sell on Shopify. You agree to them by installing the app or by creating an account on the dashboard. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you are allowed to do that.
You are responsible for the accounts you create, the permissions you grant, and the accuracy of the pay rates and policies you configure. Keep sign in details private, and remove access for people who leave.
Zon Staff is a record keeping tool. It does not give legal or tax advice, and it is your responsibility to make sure the schedules and payments you produce comply with the labor law where you operate.
Paid plans are billed monthly in USD at the price shown on our pricing page at the time you subscribe. Where the app is installed on a Shopify store, the charge goes through your Shopify account. Where you run Zon Staff on its own from the dashboard, we bill the card you give us directly. Current plans are Starter at no cost, Small Business at $24.99 per month, Workforce at $39.99 per month plus $4 per extra paid employee, and Enterprise at $199.99 per month plus $2 per extra paid employee.
Charges are prorated the way Shopify prorates everything else. If we change a price we will give you at least 30 days notice before it applies to your store.
Every paid plan opens with a 7 day free trial. If you uninstall before the trial ends you are not charged. The Starter plan stays free with no time limit and no card.
Zon Staff is also sold as a lifetime license through AppSumo. A lifetime license is bought from AppSumo, not from us, and the price, the tiers and the purchase terms are the ones published on the AppSumo listing at the time of purchase. Where this section and that listing disagree, the listing governs the purchase.
A lifetime license grants access to the tier purchased for as long as Zon Staff is offered as a product, with no renewal fee. It is granted to one Zon Staff account, is not transferable between customers, and may not be resold. Each tier carries a limit on store locations and on staff members, published on our lifetime deal page and on the AppSumo listing. Exceeding a limit does not delete or suspend your records: we notify you in the dashboard and you can move up a tier, deactivate staff who have left, or add the extra people on a monthly plan.
Licenses must be redeemed within 60 days of purchase. Tier upgrades and downgrades are made through AppSumo and are applied to your account automatically. Updates to the product on your tier are included at no cost, and customers who bought an earlier version of the deal keep their price and receive new features added to their tier.
Refunds on lifetime licenses are handled by AppSumo under their 60 day money back guarantee, which we honour in full. See the refund policy.
If we ever stop offering Zon Staff, we will give lifetime customers at least 90 days notice and a way to export every record in the account before access ends.
Do not use Zon Staff to break the law, to record people without the notice your jurisdiction requires, to resell the service, to reverse engineer it, or to attack or overload our systems. We may suspend an account that does, and we will tell you why.
Your data stays yours. We process it to run the service, as set out in our privacy policy. You can export it at any time, and you can ask us to delete it when you leave.
We work hard to keep Zon Staff running and we publish planned maintenance in advance, but we do not promise the service will never be interrupted. To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
You can close your account from the dashboard, or uninstall from your Shopify admin, at any time, and billing stops at the end of the current period. We may end the agreement if you seriously breach these terms, or if we stop offering the service, in which case we will give you notice and a way to export everything.
