Staff clock in on the tablet

They tap their name on the counter tablet, type four digits, and they're on. Breaks get counted for them. If you run more than one shop they all sit on the same screen, so you can stop ringing round to ask who turned up.

Payroll comes out of the hours you approved

Whatever you signed off turns into a draft with the overtime, the breaks and everyone's rate already worked out. Export it as a CSV for whoever runs your payroll, and record what you paid against the week. Either way you aren't sitting up retyping numbers.

The things people ask us first

No. The POS is the quickest way to do it, since the till is sitting there anyway, but your team can clock in from any browser — a shared tablet at the counter, an old phone by the door, or their own. They open a link and type a four digit PIN. There is nothing for them to install and no account for them to make.
About five minutes. Sign up, add your team, put your pay rates in and publish the first week. If you install from the Shopify App Store instead, your existing Shopify staff come across on their own, so there is no list to type out.
No. A correction has to go through a manager, and the original punch stays on the record next to it, so you can always see what was changed and by whom. Staff can see their own hours and ask for a fix; they cannot write one.
Yes. Schedule each shop separately, let people pick up shifts across stores, and see the labor cost rolled up in one view. Managers only get the stores you hand them.
You can export timesheets, payroll history and staff records to CSV whenever you like. Once you uninstall or close the account we hold the records for 30 days in case you come back, then delete them. The full detail is in the privacy policy.
Yes, properly free. Starter covers one staff member with browser clock in and scheduling, with no time limit and no card on file. Move up the day your second hire starts, and not before that.
Approved hours export as a plain CSV that any payroll provider will take. There is no direct connection into a payroll product yet, so tell support which one you use and we will put it on the list.
