New: payroll sync

The hours you approved go over to payroll without anyone retyping them.

Why Zon Staff
New: payroll now picks up your approved hours on its own

Get the roster
out of the group chat.

Zon Staff puts the schedule, the time clock and payroll inside the same Shopify POS you already ring sales on. Your team taps their name to start a shift. Come Friday the timesheet is sitting there, done, waiting for you to say yes.

What it is

Where you will run
into it during the day

Most staff software ends up as a tab nobody opens. This one lives on the register your team is already standing at, and on the phone in their pocket, so nobody has to remember an extra thing.

At the register

Your team taps their name on the Shopify POS and they're on the clock. It's the same device that rings up the sales, so the hours and the takings already agree with each other.

In your team's pocket

Everyone can pull up their own shifts, hours and payslips without asking you first. That alone gets rid of most of the "am I on tomorrow" messages that land at eleven at night.

In the back office

You approve the week, see what labor cost against what you sold, and send payroll out. The numbers are the hours your people really worked, to the minute, so there's nothing to argue about three weeks later.

01

Build the roster on Sunday night

Drag a shift onto a person and hit publish. Everyone has it on their phone before they leave the shop, and any hole left in the week is already sitting there in red, waiting for you.

They tap their name on the Shopify POS and that's it, they're on. Breaks and overtime get counted for them. If you run more than one shop they all sit on the same screen, so you can stop ringing round to ask who turned up.

Whatever you signed off turns into a draft with the overtime, the breaks and everyone's rate already worked out. Send it to Gusto, QuickBooks or Xero, or just run it here. Either way you aren't sitting up retyping numbers.

Write the rule once, whether that's per person, per product or per shop. After that it watches the sales, does the sums overnight, and drops the total into the same payroll run you were going to approve anyway.

Six things you will use
every single week

Between them they cover the whole day, from the first tap at the till to the money leaving your account on Friday. One place, instead of four tabs and a spreadsheet somebody keeps forgetting.

Scheduling that takes about ten minutes

Drag a shift onto someone and publish. Repeat a week that worked in one tap, or copy the whole thing over to your other shop.

A day on the floor

A normal Tuesday,
doors open to cash up

This is one day at a shop with four locations, and what the app is doing in the background while it happens.

07:52

Doors open

Breanna taps her name on the POS and the day is running. Nobody had to go and find the sign in sheet.

11:30

Someone calls in sick

You move the shift from your phone, still standing in the car park. Everyone who needs to know has it before lunch.

13:10

Breaks count themselves

The break starts and stops on the clock. Nobody has to sit down at five and try to remember it.

16:00

Shift change

The closing team clocks in while the morning team clocks out. Whatever needed passing on is on the same screen.

18:40

Cash up

Labor cost next to what you took today. And most of this week's payroll is already signed off, because you did it in bits.

One team, every screen

Same information,
whichever screen you grab

You plan on the laptop. Your team clocks in on the POS, or on their own phone if they're out on a delivery. It all writes to one record at the same moment, so there's only ever one version of who worked what.

It talks to the software
you already pay for

Hours go over to your accountant. Payslips go to whoever runs your payroll. Shift alerts land in the app your team already has open all day. None of it gets copied across by hand.

Questions

The things people ask us first

Seven that come up before anyone installs. Everything else lives in the help center, and support will happily go through it with you.

No. The POS is the quickest way to do it, since the till is sitting there anyway, but your team can also clock in from the iPhone app, an Android tablet, or a browser. Plenty of stores end up using a mix of all three and never think about it again.
Most people are done in about five minutes. Install it from the Shopify App Store, invite your team by email, put your pay rates in, publish the first week. Your existing Shopify staff accounts come across on their own, so there's no list to type out.
Only if you want them to. Out of the box they can ask for a correction and a manager says yes or no. Every edit carries the name of whoever made it and the time they did it, so nothing moves without a trace.
Yes. Schedule each shop separately, let people pick up shifts across stores, and see the labor cost rolled up in one view. Managers only get the stores you hand them.
You can export timesheets, payroll history and staff records to CSV whenever you like. Once you uninstall or close the account we hold the records for 30 days in case you come back, then delete them. The full detail is in the privacy policy.
Yes, properly free. Starter covers one staff member with POS clock in and scheduling, with no time limit and no card on file. Move up the day your second hire starts, and not before that.
Approved hours export in a format most providers take, including Gusto, QuickBooks and Xero, plus a plain CSV for anything else. If yours is missing, tell support and we'll go and have a look at it.

Try it on next week's roster

Install it, invite the team, publish one week. Most owners have people clocking in by that afternoon, and if the shop turns out not to need it, uninstalling is one click.
